23Story 8
It seemed astonishing to everyone that such malice had been discovered in the human heart, and they grieved the case of the poor Lady, blaming her father for giving her an unlucky name. And the group determined that as a name is the first gift of the father to the daughter he should provide one that arouses admiration and splendor and luck, as though he wished to foresee good fortune and greatness. No less was the Moor blamed, who had been foolishly credulous, but all praised God as the criminals had received fitting punishment.
